Does OHIP cover the costs of psychological services? +

Psychological services are not covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plans (OHIP).

What is the cost for psychological services? +

The fees for psychological services offered by psychologists follow the fee guidelines set by the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA).

Some of our psychology therapy treatment services are offered at a reduced fee by candidates eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and/or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, who are working under the supervision of a registered psychologist in our clinic. What payment methods do you accept? +

Our office policy is to request payment at the time of service. We currently accept the following methods of payment:

  • Email transfer (EMT)
  • Cheque

Do you accept Extended Health Benefits? +

Most psychological services provided by a registered psychologist are either partially or fully covered by private extended insurance plans. We offer E-Claims and direct billing with specific private insurance providers. Please contact us if you would like to determine whether your insurance provider is part of the E-claim program.

*We do ask that you contact your private insurance provider to determine how much coverage you have for psychological services and whether you need a doctor’s referral to access your benefits before booking your appointment.

I was involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident. Can I access my benefits through my auto insurance? +

Yes. At Liberty Square Psychology Clinic, we are registered with Health Claims for Auto Insurer (HCAI).

Do you provide services for individuals with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims? +

Yes. At Liberty Square Psychology Clinic, we are a registered treatment provider with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) under the Community Mental Health Services for psychological assessments and treatments that occur due to workplace injury.

Can I claim the fee paid for psychological services as a medical expense for my tax return something along this line? +

Yes, psychological services are a tax-deductible medical expense.

What is your cancellation policy? +

Our office reminds all clients via telephone and/or email of their appointment time at least 48 hours before their scheduled appointment. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact the office at least 48 hours prior to your booking. Without this communication, you will be charged a late cancellation fee as outlined in our agreement. Cancellation fees may be waived under exceptional circumstances.

What if I miss my appointment? +

Missed appointments without advance notice may be billed directly to you based on the service agreement you have signed.
